[00:00] * Set by jacky on Tue Mar 02 11:03:23
[00:13]<@BC_Programming> hmm a lot of the code appears to be using C# conventions it wasn't me I swear

[06:20]<+camerongray> hey pottsi
[06:22]<@BC_Programming> hey camerongray
[06:23]<+camerongray> I didn't say hi to you :P
[06:23]<+camerongray> Hey BC :P
[06:23]<@BC_Programming> FINE! :P
[06:24]<+camerongray> Sometimes I wonder why I even own a TV - Turn it on "Party Wars: Reality Competition in which four revellers compete to see who can throw the most explosive party."
[06:24]<@BC_Programming> uh
[06:24]<@BC_Programming> ok
[06:24]<@BC_Programming> Would probably require a lot of Mexican food
[06:24]<+camerongray> hehehe
[06:25]<+camerongray> Oh wow "Fashion & Beauty Fix"
[06:26] * pottsi (Mibbit@pottsi.staff.mibbit.net) Quit (Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client)
[06:26]<+camerongray> I would find something online, but I'd then have to get up to turn on the HTPC
[06:27]<+camerongray> I love how I can watch stuff on the HTPC through chrome with Adblock and skip all the ads
[06:27]<+camerongray> "Coming up after the break..." Resumes 2 seconds later
[06:28]<@BC_Programming> I've got a plugin for Bukkit that let's you use Hoppers with Ender Chests when you have GriefProtection and the EnderChest is in your claim
[06:28]<@BC_Programming> I call it: Ender Hoppers
[06:28]<+camerongray> lol
[06:28]<@BC_Programming> because I'm not very imaginative
[06:28]<+camerongray> I've not played MC in ages!
[06:39]<@BC_Programming> haha... plugin worked first try
[06:40]<@BC_Programming> if I had to guess I think this feature will be popular just for being so awesome
[07:31] * jacky (the_kink@mib-17116CF9.slsbmd.east.verizon.net) has joined #glitchpc

[07:31]<+camerongray> hey jacky
[07:32]<@jacky> camerongray: Hello
[07:33]<+camerongray> Oh eBay... "You bought a laptop for £550, do you want to pay £107.99 for a 1 year warranty?"
[07:34]<+camerongray> Oh, but if I go for 2 years it's only £161.99
[07:35]<+camerongray> The funny thing is, the laptop is under Lenovo's warranty until the end of June 2015!
[07:52]<@BC_Programming> ok what the heck is "wizpert"
[08:41]<@BC_Programming> oh wow... I never used the Firefox CSS editor, but it's awesome
[08:42]<@BC_Programming> and just like that my blog looks slightly less crap
[09:08]<Craig> Hey BC_Programming, camerongray, and everyone else :P
[09:09]<@BC_Programming> hi Craig
[09:10]<Craig> How goes it BC?
[09:10]<@BC_Programming> ok
[09:11]<@BC_Programming> have you ever heard of Wizpert?
[09:11]<Craig> Ok, I want to hurt myself, or ok, I am doing quite well>
[09:11]<Craig> Nope, never
[09:11]<@BC_Programming> hmm
[09:11]<@BC_Programming> not sure if it's spam/malicious or what, just got an invitation E-mail to it, whatever it is
[09:13]<Craig> Ahhh
[09:13]<Craig> https://wizpert.com/beta
[09:15]<@BC_Programming> hmm surprised Tux2 is still sane
[09:16]<@BC_Programming> somebody complains that GriefPrevention has a "bug" where it keeps worlds loaded
[09:16]<@BC_Programming> even though no real use case exists where that will ever be a problem, it doesn't actually keep worlds loaded, and the problem is pretty certainly in whatever they are using with their FTB server that pretends to be the Bukkit API
[09:17]<@BC_Programming> I originally tested some changes because it seems simple enough to "fix", but didn't actually commit the change because it significantly changes the public API of the plugin for stuff like website map plugins and such, which could very well all break (in fact, they probably would), so I explained that
[09:17]<@BC_Programming> and what happens? the same guy issues his own pull request of the EXACT same changes I JUST explained were a bad idea
[09:20] * jacky (the_kink@mib-17116CF9.slsbmd.east.verizon.net) has left #glitchpc
[09:59]<@BC_Programming> hmm actually, after testing some of the more prevalent plugins using the API the changes actually don't cause a problem
[10:01]<+camerongray> hey Craig
[10:30]<Craig> Hey Cameron
[10:35]<@BC_Programming> ahh that's better, no more beard
[10:37]<+camerongray> lol, you had a beard? :P
[10:37]<@BC_Programming> not much of one but enough to be itchy
[10:37]<+camerongray> Ahh
[10:38]<+camerongray> I love how at uni, the talks for who should be the Computer Society technical guy came down to who had the better beard
[10:38]<@BC_Programming> lol
[10:39]<+camerongray> Well, that and the fact the other guy's talk started with "I have basic knowledge of SSH"
[10:39]<+camerongray> Followed by "The first thing I would do is replace Wordpress with something non-PHP"
[10:39]<@BC_Programming> :/
[10:39]<+camerongray> He built his site in Haskell...
[10:39]<@BC_Programming> lol
[10:40]<@BC_Programming> and is it better because of it? probably not
[10:40]<@BC_Programming> though I'll bet you'd never be able to tell that from how he probably goes on and on about it
[10:40]<+camerongray> Yeah
[10:40]<+camerongray> The current website has its flaws, but nothing that can't be fixed
[10:41]<+camerongray> http://www.comp-soc.com/
[10:41]<+camerongray> I mean, sure the Events page kinda loads the events into the wrong div
[10:41]<+camerongray> But it's functional! No need to dump Wordpress to fix that!
[10:41]<@BC_Programming> lol that's pretty funny
[10:41]<@BC_Programming> but Haskell is functional!
[10:42]<+camerongray> ha!
[10:42]<+camerongray> I also imagine that guy would want to host it on AWS or Heroku or something
[10:42]<+camerongray> (It's currently hosted in a cupboard in the ugliest building in the city)
[10:43]<+camerongray> It might even be running on a SPARC box
[10:43]<Craig> Hehehe BC_Programming "//TODO: Insert clever subheader here"
[10:43]<@BC_Programming> is that from my AJAX quotes thingy I put at the top of my blog and main page
[10:46]<+camerongray> The guy we actually voted in was much better :P
[10:46] * Kevin (Mibbit@mib-DEA9649.dhcp.aldl.mi.charter.com) has joined #glitchpc
[10:46]<+camerongray> His talk was "I'm very familar with Linux and will use whatever techology is needed"
[10:46]<+camerongray> And he uses a ThinkPad
[10:46]<Craig> Yeah it was BC
[11:06]<@BC_Programming> well I fixed that annoying layout issue with the widgets
[11:07]<@BC_Programming> they all had this big left margin and scrunched up on the right
[11:17]<@BC_Programming> tempted to go through GriefPrevention, figure out what everything does and javadoc the bejesus out of it
[11:22]<+camerongray> Oh dear...
[11:22]<+camerongray> [18:21:25] <lostcoast> who makes it? dont say nividia

[11:22]<Craig> wow...
[11:22]<@BC_Programming> BAHAHA
[11:22]<@BC_Programming> GOLD! PURE GOLD!
[11:23]<+camerongray> Psst Craig, that doesn't work in CH :P
[11:23]<+camerongray> Craig: Incoming....
[11:23]<+camerongray> [17:36:33] <guest_58> yes, i know. its different in other countries. we are just bad.
[11:23]<+camerongray> [17:36:35] <camerongray> Like the time some guy did something at the phone exchanged and knocked out the DSL for half the city
[11:23]<+camerongray> [17:36:41] <camerongray> exchange*

[11:23]<+camerongray> [17:40:18] <guest_58> i hate place i live, everything is wrong in here. In this country, in this ppl, u can find everything whats not peacefull. I dont know why things changed so, before, in history, ppl were great. By the way Tesla is from our land. But later, at beggining of 1st world war in Sarajevo, ppl so changed and everything changed.
[11:23]<+camerongray> [17:40:38] <guest_58> Every day we are becoming bigger disaster. I will escape from here one day.
[11:23]<+camerongray> [17:40:40] <guest_58> :)
[11:23]<+camerongray> [17:41:47] <guest_36> theres a purchase im often asked to make to speed up downloads and watching videos. i often get buffering roblems on flash playing from sites videos do you think this speed up application would help with flash player difficulties
[11:23]<+camerongray> [17:43:20] <guest_58> guest_36: That depends on server where videos are, depends how many programs u using or have working in background while watching them, depends how many tabs are openned, depends on version of flash, depends on connection. I dont think you can speed up that
[11:23]<+camerongray> [17:44:28] <-- guest_58 (Mibbit@FDB92780.C542132B.D2E6C365.IP) has quit (Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client)
[11:23]<+camerongray> [17:44:45] <guest_36> does a download speeder upper do a good job in increasing download speed
[11:23]<+camerongray> [17:46:59] <rockets1201> purchasing any type of software like that will not help that
[11:23]<+camerongray> [17:47:29] <camerongray> guest_36: Most/all of these programs are fake
[11:23]<+camerongray> [17:47:44] <rockets1201> ^^
[11:23]<+camerongray> [17:48:16] <camerongray> They usually offer a free trial that will give you a huge list of supposed problems that it can fix and ask you to pay to fix them, whe you pay it pretends to "clean" them and then says that there are no problems
[11:24]<+camerongray> [17:49:13] <camerongray> Your interent speed is unlikely to be restricted by software on your machine, much more likely to be a problem with your ISP or other networking equipment in your house e.g. your router/modem or even be limited by the site you are downloading from
[11:24]<+camerongray> [17:50:14] <guest_36> thanks guys i think u right in my experience flash player watching is not great
[11:24]<+camerongray> [17:51:08] <camerongray> Yeah, flash player can be fairly slow - It's pretty bloated software
[11:24]<+camerongray> [17:51:42] <camerongray> guest_36: You can try running a speed test at speedtest.net, see how that speed compares to what you are paying for from your ISP
[11:24]<+camerongray> [17:53:27] <guest_36> yes i use sky services uk and my area is considerably slower than should be,im in a poor receiving area and have no fibre optic telephone lines here, still copper
[11:24]<+camerongray> [17:53:43] <camerongray> Ahh yeah, DSL can be a pain in certain areas
[11:24]<+camerongray> [17:54:08] <camerongray> The only thing you can try is to check that your router is plugged directly into your master socket and not into a phone extension, this can sometimes help
